butane

Teens are always curious to try the latest trendy drug. Now there is a new one on the scene for parents to be concerned about. Dabbing is all the rage among young people. Dabbing is taking the natural marijuana plant, placing it in a container and heating it with butane. This creates highly concentrated hash oil that resembles honey. This oil is so potent that only a little dab is needed to experience an intense high.

The high is so extreme that even long time users of marijuana have been known to pass out after dabbing. One poor guy ended up dying after he passed out and suffered a severe head injury. Cases of hash oil overdose are rising in emergency rooms across the country.

The process of extracting THC from marijuana plants is not new. Hash oil is often professionally extracted so it can be added to foods or other oils for easier ingestion. What is concerning for parents, teachers, law enforcement and some marijuana users is the danger in using butane to produce the oil. Butane is a major chemical component in propane gas and is highly toxic and flammable. There have been numerous cases of butane hash oil explosions in recent years. These are huge explosions that can maim or kill someone.

Another dangerous side effect from using butane in this way is the toxic fumes it produces. Butane is favored because it works fast to dissolve the oils out of the plant material. After the butane evaporates, it leaves behind dangerous neurotoxins inside the oil. The easiest way to detect butane contamination is to smell the oil residue. It often has a strong chemical smell that resembles lighter fluid. Smoking this poorly made stuff can truly rot the brain.

Of course, kids are mostly unaware of the dangers. Typical of their age and inexperience they are simply looking for a cool way to get high. Kids as young as age nine have been discovered actively dabbing. The bad part for parents is that hash oil manufacturing and smoking is easy to hide. Kids seem to have no problem finding the marijuana or materials needed to burn the oil.

Repeatedly smoking hash oil can quickly lead good kids down a path of personal destruction. Excessive dabbing can cause kids to lose interest in achieving their goals. Some even end up in jail. Kids need to be warned about these bad consequences.
